Are You Dreaming of a Wedding in the Scottish Tradition?

I'm Jennifer Cram, authorised marriage celebrant, awesome wordsmith, and lover of Scottish traditions - and I'm here to make that dream of a Scottish wedding downunder come true for you.

My heritage is Scots (Caithness and Orkney). From a clanless sept. Luckily, I married into one of the largest clans in Scotland, acquiring a tartan I love to wear when I'm officiating.

Did you know that 1 in 10 Australians identifies as having Scottish Ancestry? The best weddings tell stories in an interesting way. And a beautifully put together wedding ceremony in the Scottish Tradition tells not only your story, but  is flavoured with the heritage of Scotland, heritage spanning centuries that make Scots the people we are, regardless of how many generations removed we are! Let's celebrate that in your wedding.

I'm always up for a chat about weddings. Feel free to contact me

What's included in your Bluebonnet Tartan Wedding

Time-honoured traditions go to the heart of what a great wedding ceremony is. Your ceremony will be a celebration of the joining of two people, two families, and pride in culture.

their Handfasting wedding at Old Petrie TownYour bespoke ceremony, created just for you. And all about you. It will honour Scots traditions but won't be solely a reflection of the past. I will make sure that it is infused with your personal style, that it resonates to your story, and is a feast for eyes, ears, and heart that your guests will love, and so will you. And it goes way beyond the wearing of tartan or the sound of the bagpipes.

Choose from many beautiful Scottish traditions. Handfasting, sharing the quaich, sashing of the bride, jumping the broom, and many more customs. As many or as few as you like. No one tradition defines a wedding in the Scots tradition, it's a feast!

I'll make sure that all the legals are done right. I can't stress how important that is. So I'm meticulous about dotting the i's and crossing the t's.

A bound keepsake copy of your ceremony plus, if you choose to read your vows, bound vows booklets that look good in photos and you get to keep forever.

Legals Only - Married in a MinuteTM (with Handfasting)

If you want to celebrate your heritage with a handfasting, but don't really want a wedding as such, I have the perfect solution my Married in a Minute TM PLUS Package.

The barest minimum of legal words with a visually gorgeous handfasting thrown in. Granted, the handfasting adds another minute to the experience, so it should be called Married in 2 minutes,  but what an addition that extra minute is! And you don't have to worry about a thing as I supply the necessary for the handfasting (a simple cord or ribbon).

A taste of what others have said about my services

You are VERY good at what you do Jen, and you have such a wonderful and warm personality....so it is NO wonder that you get rated so highly. Love your work, and look forward to working with you again soon - - Piper Joe McGhee

Everyone thought you did a fantastic job and set the scene perfectly. We thought your way of creating a ceremony was brilliant. We were  extremely happy at how the whole ceremony went. It was loving and thoughtful. The atmosphere that was set was relaxing and fun. It was exactly what we were looking for our ceremony to be. - Catriona and Mark who held their tartan wedding at the Grand View Hotel. Mark wore the Australian Dress Tartan, and their wee son was resplendent in his own kilt and Prince Charlie Jacket.

Thank you so much for yesterday. It was a perfect day and I had so much fun. Everything was just so wonderful and many guests commented on the ceremony and how it fit us perfectly. Thank you for listening to us about what we wanted and delivering it to a tee! - Glenys who married Gary beneath 300 year old Moreton Bay Figs at Old Petrie Town. Gary and his groomsmen wore the Prince Charlie Jacket.  Glynis and her bridesmaids carried bouquets of Australian Native Flowers whose muted tones toned fabulously with the kilts.

Thank you for your special consideration on our wishes and making it pretty much perfect. Your guidance through the process was nothing but helpful and frankly rather graceful to be honest. We respected the process and the abundance of thought you put into it, it was highly appreciated and highly considerate xxx - Carolann and John who married at Cleveland Point.
